Dry Suit Diver
Dry Suit Diver
If you want to dive comfortably in cold waters, you need to protect yourself thermally. A dry suit is used for this. Diving in a dry suit you have the option of wearing thermoactive underwear and an additional undersuit. A dry suit is not only a thermal insulator, it is also and maybe above all, a buoyancy device. Diving in such a suit, you regulate your buoyancy with it. It is not difficult, but it requires practice and exercise. This is one of the reasons why you should acquire the ability to dive in a dry suit under the guidance of an instructor. In the course, you will learn how to operate a dry suit, maintain trim and buoyancy, how to balance well. You will do the exercises as on the OWD course (fins, hoover, etc.) using a dry suit. If you feel that you have problems with buoyancy still in wet foam, you can do the first exercises in the pool.
